Why you should not select “Allow Pingbacks & Trackbacks” in WordPress Blog Post?

Who doesn’t want a website which remains safe against any spam attack? If you want to remain safe and keep your website safe against black-hat SEO on your website by spammers, you should definitely consider not selecting “Allow Pingback & Trackbacks”. I do not want to overburden you with lots of technical information but keep it simple and keeping this blog’s motto in mind, I will give a few reasonings for not to select “Allow Pingbacks & Trackbacks.”

  • Selecting “Allow Pingbacks & Trackbacks” leaves open doors for spammers to welcome and spam commenting on your blog post. Although WordPress has the auto-moderation facility for all the (1) comments and (2) pingbacks & trackbacks, you will spend too much time moderating these pingbacks. It is better to keep this option off from the beginning, as per wpbeginner.com [1]
  • If this one is selected, there are chances that your website can experience unauthorized submission at some low-grade content website. Traffic coming from “Bad Quality Links” can become penalties that harm your website’s SERP ranking.[2]
  • Comments are important for the majority of the blogs to interact with your readers, but I, personally, do not see any significant importance of “Allow Pingbacks & Trackback.”
  • If you think otherwise, please drop your comment, and let’s discuss.
